Who are we ?
The UFUK Horizon Development Foundation (HDF) was established by a dedicated group of Syrian professionals—doctors, engineers, and researchers—focused on addressing community challenges in times of crisis. As a non-governmental organization, HDF is committed to bridging the gap between immediate humanitarian aid and long-term resilience. We believe that empowering individuals to rebuild and strengthen their capacities is essential for sustainable recovery. Our approach emphasizes a rapid transition from emergency response to resilience-building, with an initial focus on education, protection, and livelihoods, progressing towards early recovery and rehabilitation for the most affected. Registered in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria, HDF operates as a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations. Our mission centers on empowering affected communities and building the capacities of local actors, allowing them to lead crisis response and development efforts. By fostering an inclusive, diverse, and independent civil society, HDF amplifies the voices of local initiatives and NGOs, driving impactful, community-led change.
HDF collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, returnees, host communities, and local and international NGOs. To achieve our mission, we work with experts and employ the necessary resources to strengthen resilience and organizational capacity. Expanding our geographical reach, HDF remains dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations worldwide, working toward a more sustainable future.
